Butler 12U baseball wins District 25 crown, heads to Pa. Little League Section 1 tournament
With a 3-2 win over Franklin, the Butler 12U Little League baseball all-star team won the District 25 title Thursday night.
Carter Knapik went 3-for-3 with a double and also had the game-sealing tag at first base to put away the best-of-three series in two games. Sage Seezox had an RBI sacrifice fly and also pitched 5.2 innings, giving up eight hits, striking out nine and issuing no walks.
Kaden Walker and Graham Hohn both had RBI doubles, while Henry Manning and Liam McKindley added base knocks. Grady Bohin helped Butler out of a bases-loaded jam to end the game on the mound.
“It was a great baseball game, and the Butler community really showed up for these kids,” Butler manager Shawn Manning said. “They showed up early, cheered on the kids. They were here to support the youth of Butler. It was amazing.”
Butler advances to the Section 1 tournament, which will be held in Waterford, Erie County, beginning Saturday, June 12.
