Zelienople Rotary Club names parade honorees for July 4 celebration
The Rotary Club of Zelienople will honor two standout community members during this year’s Fourth of July Parade, which will step off at 11 a.m. July 4 with lineup beginning at 9 a.m. on High Street.
Joella Baker, a longtime Rotarian and accomplished athlete and triathlon coach, has been named grand marshal. The Harmony native founded and and currently coaches the Duquesne University triathlon team and is the creator of Get Fit Families — a local health and wellness organization.
Baker, who was recently inducted into the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame, has competed in 18 Half Ironman races and eight world championship events and has coached dozens of world-class athletes.
DeeAnn Graham will receive the Tullio A. “Doc” Viola Service Above Self Award, given to a non-Rotarian who exemplifies exceptional community service. Graham retired after more than 30 years with the Seneca Valley School District, which included 17 years as principal of Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School.
