Flood watch issued for Butler County Tuesday
A flood watch for Butler County and surrounding areas was issued for Tuesday, June 17, by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
The weather service warned of a moderate, or 40%, chance for flooding in southeastern Butler County and a slight, or greater than 15%, chance of flooding for the rest of the county.
The flood watch will last from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The weather service forecasts a 90% chance of rain with the highest chance between 2 and 6:30 p.m. The flood watch results from the expectation of excessive rain that could lead to rapid flooding.
Temperatures are projected in the high 70s.
