Francis Neff
Francis G. Neff, 86, of North Oakland, Chicora, died unexpectedly at his residence Thursday, June 12, 2025.
He was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Chicora, to Philip and Josephine Angert Neff.
He honorably served two years for his country in the Army.
He was a mechanic and worked at Pullman, and retired from Walch Equipment Inc. in Prospect after 20 years.
Francis was blessed with innumerable skills that he used to build the beautiful home and garage for the comfort of his lovely family.
He was a wonderful father who liked being outdoors; and always had a story ready to share.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Barrington Neff, whom he married Sept. 25, 1965; daughters, Patricia Neff of East Brady, Cindy and Jason Anderson of Renfrew and Cathy Neff of Chicora; son, Carl Neff of Chicora; eight grandchildren; one brother, Victor Neff of Chicora; one sister, Mary Ann and Jim Young of Chicora; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Alan Neff and Ted Neff; and three grandsons.
NEFF — Friends of Francis G. Neff, who died Thursday, June 12, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at THOMAS M. STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, located at the corner of Main and East Slippery Rock streets.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 864 Chicora Road, N. Oakland, Chicora, officiated by the Rev. Steven Neff.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Oakland.
