The American Red Cross recently honored Lori Danik of Cranberry Township and Brian Smay of Emsworth, Allegheny County, with the Award of Merit for saving the life of a Beaver County woman who collapsed in December while at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford. Employees of the club, Danik called for medical assistance and assisted Smay, who administered CPR and used an automated external defibrillator to revive Gena Fortunato.
