Cody Stewart, a junior at Moniteau High School, qualified for state competition in the Poetry Out Loud contest.He was presented with the Regional Poetry Out Loud Award Feb. 22.Rep. Dick Stevenson, R-18th, helped to present the award.The state competition is March 14 in Harrisburg.He captured the school-level competition in January.———
<B>The Butler County Family YMCA Child Care Program</B> recently received its third star in the Keystone STARSprogram for child care centers.The program requires child care providers to increase their standards of care above the state's minimum licensing regulations. Participating centers are awarded up to four stars for improved standards.———
Winners at the <B>Butler Duplicate Bridge Club game</B> held Feb. 22 were <B>Nick Tredennick </B>and <B>Ray Kramer</B>. Coming in second place were <B>Tom Richards </B>and <B>Alex Bealles</B>.
