Middlesex Twp. residents tabbed for parks committee

The Middlesex Township board of supervisors officially appointed five township residents to the township's new Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.

Committee members Jamie Wharton, Hayley Geyer, JoAnn Echtler, Sean Girdwood and Jessica Zeff will report to the board of supervisors to provide recommendations and develop plans for new updates to Middlesex Township Community Park, located behind the Middlesex municipal building at 133 Browns Hill Road.

The idea for the committee began earlier this summer.

According to township manager Adam Hartwig, the committee has already started to meet, and has contributed to a number of different project planning efforts related to the park.

The team suggested inviting the public to bring nonperishable items to donate to the food bank in lieu of admission fees at the township's upcoming Turkey Trot in November, he said.

“There are a lot of people who are excited about it,” Hartwig said. “It's good — we need the input.”
