Douglas E. Marburger, 86, of Harmony, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the comfort of his home.

Born May 12, 1935, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Donald Marburger and Freda Bicker Marburger.

Doug proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 until 1960.He was a faithful member of Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, where he had been the past manager of their softball team, and he also coached baseball in the community. He loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers.Above all, Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his pride and joy, his grandson, Braeden.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Greg Marburger of Cranberry Township, Sharon Marburger of Zelienople, and Eric Marburger of Harmony; his grandson, Braeden Marburger; and his stepbrother, Gordon Marburger.In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Leona G. Dambaugh Marburger; and his brother, Fred Marburger.MARBURGER — Friends of Douglas E. Marburger, who died Thursday, July 29, 2021, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. Jon Nelson officiating.Doug will be laid to rest with full military honors at Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made in Doug's honor to Park United Presbyterian Church.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
