Meet the Union High School graduates
Union High School graduated approximately 44 students on Thursday, May 22. The commencement ceremony was at 7 p.m. in the Stemmerich Gymnasium.
The valedictorian is Gage Jordan, the son of Staci and Jason Jordan of Rimersburg. He participated in basketball, track and field, sports club, travel club and Clarion County Youth Council. Jordan was also the vice president of yearbook club, National Honor Society and the treasurer of prom committee. Jordan volunteers in the annual Wreaths Across America Service in Rimersburg and is employed at Bob’s Sub and Sandwich Shop in Clarion. Looking forward, Jordan plans are to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania to receive a bachelor’s degree in finance.
The salutatorian is Cassidy McCullough, daughter of Terry McCullough and Misty Maxwell, as well as the stepdaughter of Buddy Maxwell of Rimersburg. McCullough participated in travel club, art club, National Honors Society and served as the vice president of the student council and prom committee. She is employed at Tom’s Riverside and has done community service at her moms work and by helping put up veteran signs around Rimersburg. McCullough plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania and major in biology on a pre-med track, after which she plans to attend Medical School to become a dermatologist.
Dustin Kifer, a 2002 graduate of Union High School, spoke at the ceremony. He has been a voice behind area sports events over the last 20 years, working as commentator, producer and host for sports broadcasts on C-93 FM Radio in Clarion before joining the ExploreClarion sports broadcast team. Kifer attended Grove City College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a secondary education certification, later obtaining a physics certification. He now resides in Rimersburg with his wife, Kelli, and their three children, Andrew, Emma and Olivia.
