Meet the Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School graduates
Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School’s graduation is 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at Diehl Stadium at the high school. The rain date is Friday.
The speakers are Savanna Prescott, senior class president; Liam Rodgers, valedictorian; and Griffin Booher, salutatorian.
Savanna is the daughter of Tara and Brandon Geibel, of Chicora. In her time at Karns City, Savanna was president of the senior class, on the student council, in National Honor Society, varsity basketball captain, varsity soccer captain, on varsity track and field, and a student athletic trainer. Savanna received a Founder’s Scholarship from Gannon University. She earned First Team All-Conference in soccer, Second Team All-Conference in basketball, an honor sash and gifted honor cords. Following graduation, Savanna will study in Gannon’s physician assistant program.
Liam is the son of Sarah Wick, of Chicora. He is a member of National Honor Society, on student council, president of chess club, in Home Ec Club, and in the weightlifting club. Liam earned the Penn State Provost Award, High Honor Roll, Challenge Program Academic Excellence Award, second place national team at AGLOA Competition, ARMCO Credit Union Scholarship and AP Scholar with Distinction. Following graduation, Liam will major in electrical engineering at Penn State University
Griffin is the son of Tracy and Jason Booher, of Cowansville. Griffin was involved in varsity cross country, was a varsity track and field captain, and was a member of National Honor Society. His senior awards include First Team All-Conference Cross Country, state qualifier cross country, AP Scholar, Challenge Program Award – STEM, high honor roll and honor sash. Following graduation, Griffin will major in electrical engineering at Penn State University.
