Richard “Rick” A. Tomczak, 68, of Butler, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family holding his hands.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 29, 1956, to Raymond Sr. and Loretta “Lori” (St. Clair) Tomczak.

Rick graduated from Knoch High School and was employed as a lifelong heavy equipment operator. Rick was an expert in his field and was highly sought after.

He was known for being kind and generous, was always willing to help others and was a friend until the end. Rick will be remembered for his positive personality, his wonderful smile and amazing laugh. Family was very important to him and he loved them all very much.

Rick was a member of Culmerville Sportsman’s Club, Outdoor Lodge and Operating Engineers Local 66.

He was the brother of Raymond Tomczak, John Mueller, Jerry and Joyce Hendricks. He is also survived by four nieces and a nephew.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Tomczak; his mother, Lori Hendricks; and the only man he ever called dad, his stepfather, Donald Hendricks.

The family would like to thank the intensive care unit staff at Butler Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care.

TOMCZAK — All services for Richard “Rick” A. Tomczak, who died Saturday, May 31, 2025, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
