Two Butler County residents were presented with an award from the Prudential Foundation to donate to the charity of their choice. The Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants program recognizes individual and team volunteers who provided a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service per individual.
Teresa English of Butler was awarded $1,000. English has devoted more than 150 volunteer service hours to the Victim Outreach Intervention Center Domestic Violence Service (VOICe.) She is a financial planner with Prudential Financial. English has been a volunteer with VOICe for more than two decades.
Sharyn Gallagher of Sarver was awarded $250. She contributed more than 125 volunteer service hours to the Freeport Hockey Boosters in 2008.
