Harry I. Metcalfe, 81, formerly of Evans City, died Tuesday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born April 18, 1926, in Overbrook, he was the son of Thomas and Sylvia Slayton Metcalfe.

Mr. Metcalfe retired as a cabinetmaker at Steiger Brothers in Elizabeth.

He enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 61½ years, Stella Kost Metcalfe; a son, Harry T. Metcalfe and his wife, Jean, of North Wales, Montgomery County; and a daughter, Christine A. Maihle and her husband, Dave, of Bangor, Northhampton County.
