Edward Polanec

Edward Polanec, 79, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Monday, April 24, 2006, in Kentucky.

Born in Butler, Feb. 28, 1927, he was the son of Isadore and Katherine Beitch Polanec.

He was a graduate of Butler High School and Geneva College.

After serving in the Navy during the latter part of World War II, he worked for the Anchor Hocking Glass Co. and retired after 30 years.

He is survived by a son, Edward Polanec Jr. of Cadiz, Ky.; and three grandchildren. He also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Michael (Virginia) Uram and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Moses, both of Butler, and Mrs. Donald (Rose) Hindman of Saxonburg; and four brothers, Albert, Isadore, Thomas and Richard Polanec, all of Butler.

Two brothers preceded him in death.
