Russell Christiana
Russell Christiana, 83, of Cranberry Township passed away Saturday while under the care of the Wexford House Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 14, 1929, in Ambridge, he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Elizabeth (Toritto) Christiana.
Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
After many years of dedicated service, he retired from Braun's Bakery. During his free time, he loved golfing and playing cards.
The Christiana family wishes to express their sincere and loving thanks to all the staff at the Wexford House for all of their care.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 58 years, Lucille (Bartolomucci) Christiana, who he married Oct. 9, 1954; his three loving sons, Russell J. Christiana and his wife, Gina, Daniel F. Christiana and his wife, Cheryl, and Paul S. Christiana; his three grandchildren, Stephanie M. Christiana, Russell J. Christiana Jr. and Daniel P. Christiana; and his sister, Elizabeth Christopher.
Russell was preceded in death by his stepfather, who raised him from the age of 2, Arthur Polito; his sister, Catherine Lashuk; and his brother, James Christiana.
CHRISTIANA — A memorial Mass for Russell Christiana, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.Russell will be laid to rest with full military honors at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Russell's honor to the Butler VA Healthcare System, 325 New Castle Road, Butler PA, 16001.Online condolences and directions are at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
