Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Owen (Smith) Taylor of Cranberry Township, formerly of Euclid, Ohio, passed away on Aug. 30 after suffering a debilitating stroke. She was 92 years old.
Born and raised in Owensboro, Ky., she was the devoted wife of the late Sam Taylor and mother to their three children, Tom Taylor, Alice Shupe and Judi Rexford.
Her priorities in life were faith in Jesus Christ, her family and her friends. She received degrees in music from Depauw and Northwestern universities, was the contralto soloist at the Epworth-Euclid Church, now University Circle UMC, in Cleveland, Ohio, and worked as a nursery school teacher and administrator.
Her grandchildren are Ben Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Kate Shupe Leech, Emma Shupe Flaugher, Sam Shupe and Eli Rexford. She is the foster grandmother to April Pozniak Mangen and the foster great-grandmother to Abby Pozniak, Keyan Pozniak and Jewelina Mangen. She also has two great-grandchildren, Noah Flaugher and Elizabeth Owen Leech, her namesake.
TAYLOR — A memorial service to honor the life of Elizabeth Owen (Smith) Taylor, who died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, will be at the Salem United Methodist Church, 350 Manor Road, Wexford, at 4 p.m. Thursday.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Wexford, PA 15090.Arrangements were handled by the H.P.
