Ella Mae Smith
Ella Mae Smith, 93, of Forward Township, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in the comfort of her home.
Born May 1, 1932, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Andrew Kohler and Charlotte Ernst Kohler.
Ella Mae was a member of Westminster U.P. Church in Evans City. She was an avid crafter and was involved in the Evans City Senior Center. She was a movie star in “Night of the Living Dead.” Above all, Ella Mae loved her family dearly and enjoyed being involved in their lives.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, William (Pam) Smith; and her daughter, Lois (John) Kearns; her six grandchildren, Will (Marci) Smith, Greg (Amy) Smith, Amanda (Phil) Kevach, Phillip (Laken) Kearns, Dana (Cody) Jesperson and Sam (Nikki) Kearns; her 12 great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, David Jesperson; her sister-in-law, Jean Kohler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ella Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phillip Smith; her daughter, Phyllis Jesperson; her brother, Raymond Kohler; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice (Joseph) Reitlinger and Ruth (Bob) Zoelle.
SMITH — Friends of Ella Mae Smith, who died Wednesday, May 21, 2025, will be received for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.
