BC3 men’s golf makes NJCAA Division III national championships
Undefeated Butler County Community College men’s golf is heading back to the national championship.
The Pioneers (8-0) won their seventh National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Region 20 title last week as Jacob Marquardt set a new program record. BC3 will now play in Chautauqua, N.Y., from June 2-6 for a shot at gold.
It’s the sixth time since 2009 the Pioneers have made nationals; the 2023 team finished a program-best fifth.
Marquardt shot a two-day total of 144, a new BC3 record at the region tournament that broke Troy Loughry’s 2022 record by two strokes. Marquardt is the sixth Pioneer to win a region title.
Xander Downing finished second with a 148, Mitchell Covert shot a 158 for third and Jaxon Salata tied for fourth with a 160.
