Butler defeats Chambersburg in first round of PIAA 6-A playoffs
Butler used a stifling defense in the second half to defeat Chambersburg, 56-42, in the first round of the PIAA 6A boys basketball tournament at Canon-McMillan.
The game was tied at 26 at halftime, but the Trojans (20-8) managed just 7 points in the first 13 minutes of the second half. Ethan Morton led Butler with 20 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Devin Carney had 14 points for Butler (21-5), including two key treys, a steal and layup in the second half.
Tyler Collier, a 6-foot-8 forward, led Chambersburg with 10 points and 13 reboinds.
Butler will play Coatesville in the next round.
