Cheryl A. 'Sherry' Kienzle
Cheryl A. “Sherry” Kienzle, 54, of Butler passed away Friday at Forbes Hospice at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh with her loving family by her side.
Born in Butler, on May 29, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Gloria Berra Kienzle.
She was a registered nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital for 32 years.
A graduate of Butler High School Class of 1976, she received her nursing degree from Butler County Community College.
Sherry would like to be remembered as a kind and caring nurse, straight forward at times when she needed to be, but always focused on her patients' needs.
She dedicated her life to her loving parents in their time of need. She enjoyed reading, shopping and faithfully following local sports teams.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association. She was awarded Nurse of the Year in 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Spencer, who she married June 25, 2000; two brothers, Dennis G. Kienzle and his wife, Julie, of Pittsburgh and Randall L. Kienzle of Pittsburgh; one stepdaughter, Linley and her daughter, Madelynn; two nieces, Elizabeth Quinn and her husband, Larry, of Mount Lebanon and Katlyn Kienzle, of Pittsburgh; and one great-nephew, Rory Quinn of Mount Lebanon.
KIENZLE — Friends of Cheryl A. “Sherry” Kienzle, who passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday to conduct a scriptural wake service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Butler County Community College Nursing Program or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Pittsburgh.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
