BlueSox split pair
LORAIN, Ohio — Shutouts and the Butler BlueSox have been going hand-in-hand this season.
Adam Bleday tossed six no-hit innings and Butler High graduate Mick Fennell tossed three shutout innings of relief for his first save as the BlueSox blanked Lorain 5-0 Sunday.
Bleday walked four, but also struck out seven before exiting with a 1-0 lead after six.
Butler (10-6) tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh and a run each in the eighth and ninth innings to pad the lead.
Collin Massanelli had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Forrest Perron also had two hits, including a double to pace Butler.
Cody Herald had another multi-hit game for teh BlueSox. The Butler native has hit safely in five of the last six games with three multi-hit games in that span.
Butler bounced back from a 7-2 loss to Chillicothe on Saturday.
The BlueSox pitching staff leads the league with 151 strikes and has recorded five shutouts this season.
