Meridian picked up two wins in the Butler County American Legion baseball standings by defeating Center Township 4-1 and 18-7 Tuesday at Pullman Park.

Jake Koerner earned the win in the first game, allowing the one run on four hits. Bobby Swartwout had a single and two RBI in the victory and Grant Foley a single and double.

Meridian scored five runs in the second inning and seven more in the fourth to take control of Game Two.

Ben Berresford had two base hits and four RBI for Meridian (12-3) and teammate Eric Turner did his part with a triple and two RBI.

For Center Township (7-5), Shawn Culbertson singled twice and drove in two runs.
