Richard Bruce
Richard J. Bruce, 70, of Richland Township, Valencia, passed away Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025, at his home.
Born in Pittsburgh on May 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Mary Louise Kunz Bruce.
He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a two year past Commander of Mars VFW Post 7505 and was a former State Adjunct.
Richard had been a draftsman and surveyor for Duquesne Light for 42 years.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church.
He was an avid bowler and loved hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lee Bruce, whom he married Feb. 14, 1975; two daughters, Amanda Burkert (Patrick) of Middlesex Township and Jeannie Bruce (Jeremy) of Monesson; his grandchildren, Jason (Shayla), Audrey, KiKi, Jack and James; three brothers, Robert A. Bruce Jr. (the late Paula) of Gibsonia, William Bruce (Linda) of Mount Nebo and Daniel Bruce (Bee) of Murrysville; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina R. Bruce; and a sister, Judith Dodge (the late Fred Dodge Jr.).
BRUCE — Friends of Richard J. Bruce, who died Wednesday, May 14, 2025, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
Burial with military honors will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Township. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday for a procession to the cemetery for honors at 11 a.m.
