Irene Mary Keefer
Irene Mary Keefer, 81, of Butler, formerly of Long Island and West Deer Township, passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday.
She was born July 26, 1930, in Gibsonia to the late Michael Woseck and Mary (Pisarcik) Woseck.
Irene was a long time member of the Oak Hills Christian Church in Butler where she was a church elder, board member and participated in the choir. She enjoyed fitness, yoga and gardening. She worked at Marmon Keystone as a manager of employee communications, retiring Dec. 31, 2011, after 31 years.
Irene is survived by one son, Scott Keefer and his wife, Laura Keefer, of Dexter, Mich.; one daughter, Joelle Besnette and her husband, David, of Broomfield, Colo.; three grandchildren, Adam Keefer, Allison Keefer and Johnnie Besnette; one brother, William Woseck of Gibsonia; one sister, Petronella (Nellie) Semko of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bruce E. Keefer, who she married on Aug. 12, 1955, and who passed away on Nov. 3, 1999; and a brother, John Woseck.
