KDKA's Fred Honsberger dead at 58
MONROEVILLE — Fred Honsberger, a veteran personality and conservative talk show host on Pittsburgh's KDKA Radio, has died. He was 58.
Michael Young, KDKA's senior vice president, says Honsberger died Wednesday morning at his home in Monroeville.
Since January, Honsberger was the station's afternoon host from noon to 3 p.m. weekdays. Before that he had filled various talk show slots since 1989, including an afternoon drive-time show starting at 3 p.m. which followed Rush Limbaugh's syndicated show when it still aired on KDKA.
Honsberger won several awards for his talk shows between 1997 and 2007.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
