John Riesmeyer

Riesmeyer

John F. Riesmeyer, 81, of Valencia, formerly of Mars, passed away Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025, at Cranberry Place.

Born in Evans City on Dec. 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Alfred and Regina Murray Riesmeyer.

John was a truck driver for Brown Trucking and, more recently, ESM in Callery for the past 24 years.

He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church.

An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of Mars VFW Post 7505.

John was a past president of Mars Baseball Association.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Nichols Riesmeyer, whom he married Feb. 13, 1965; his son, John W. Riesmeyer (Sharon) of Mt. Lebanon; his daughter, Kimberly Kerber (James) of Olmstead Township, Ohio; his grandchildren, Amanda, Abigail, Andrew and Annaliese Riesmeyer and Sara and Leah Kerber; his brothers, Michael Riesmeyer (Carol) of Carlisle and Richard Riesmeyer (Lisa) of South Carolina; his sisters, Phoebe Riesmeyer, his twin, of Jacksonville, Fla., Frances Mazur (Mike) of Sewickley and Patricia Kies (Roger) of Beaver; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Fred and Daniel Riesmeyer; and his sister, Geraldine Albert.

RIESMEYER — Friends of John F. Riesmeyer, who died Wednesday, May 7, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, at St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township. Please meet at the church. Father Charles Bober, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.
