Patricia Pegher-Miller

Pegher-Miller

Patricia “Pat” E. Pegher-Miller, 76, of Evans City, passed away peacefully Friday, May 2, 2025, in Zelienople, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She met her illness with the same faith, humor, grace and inner strength that defined the way she lived every day of her life.

Born Dec. 29, 1948, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, to Julia Marie (Coll) Pegher and Raymond “Bud” Andrew Pegher, Pat was raised in the close-knit Brookline neighborhood, where she shared a lively and loving home at 825 Bayridge with her sister and three brothers.

She was a proud graduate of Resurrection Parish School, Elizabeth Seton High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Pat dedicated more than three decades of her life to the healing profession as an oncology nurse at Mercy Hospital, where her deep empathy, quiet strength and attentive care touched the lives of countless patients and families.

Outside the hospital, Pat’s great devotion was to her sprawling family. She was the trusted historian, communicator, organizer and heart of the family — managing news updates, holiday logistics, menus and sleeping arrangements with ease and a sense of humor. Her warmth and natural leadership extended to every generation.

A gifted painter and photographer, Pat documented the life she loved through iconic images — long before smartphones and filters — capturing beach days, birthday cakes, family reunions and quiet, beautiful moments.

Pat also knew how to find joy and recharge, whether at “Our Place” on the Allegheny River, toes in the sand at Rehoboth and Folly beaches, exploring new destinations on a cruise, or simply watching the birds from her porch. She loved Pirates baseball (win or lose), listening to music that stirred memory and faith, and sharing laughter with those she held dear — especially her beloved husband, Bill, and her sister, Marilyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Miller of Shaler; her parents; her sister, Marilyn Macurak; brother-in-law, Jim Macurak; sister-in-law, Carol Pegher; her beloved niece, Kelly (Pegher) Guerra; and her young angel nephew, Noah Latronica.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Thom) Eby; and four grandchildren, Katelyn, Allison, Matthew and Anna; brothers, Bill, Dan (Sharon) and George (Rebecca); sisters-in-law, Susanne Katich and Jane Miller; and an expansive circle of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry her memory — and the lessons of her love — with them always.

PEGHER-MILLER — Visitation for Patricia “Pat” E. Pegher-Miller, who died Friday, May 2, 2025, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, and from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.

Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.
