Butler County, alongside six other western Pennsylvania and four Ohio counties, are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. on Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.

A hazardous weather outlook for east central Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia is also in effect for today.

According to a post from the service, there is potential for severe weather Friday afternoon and evening with gusty winds, hail and heavy downpours.
