Adams Township lifts burning ban after 6 weeks

ADAMS TWP — At their meeting on Monday, April 28, supervisors voted to lift the township’s temporary ban on burning which went into effect on March 12 and lasted six weeks.

The burn ban was initially put into place in early March following a period of warm, dry weather, which made perfect conditions for brush fires. The board of supervisors voted to extend the burn ban at previous meetings on March 24 and again on April 14.

During Monday’s meeting, the supervisors mentioned that recent rains in the area had significantly reduced the chance of further brush fires.
