James R. Claypool Sr.

James R. Claypool Sr., 71, of Worthington died Monday at his home.

He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Worthington, the son of Walfred N. and Martha Ruth McAuley Claypool.

A lifelong member of the Worthington community, Mr. Claypool was a machinist for Pullman-Standard in Butler, D.L. Bauman in Saxonburg, and Applied Test Systems in Butler.

He was a member of Craigsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved rides in the country spotting deer.

He is survived by two sons, James. R. Claypool Jr., and wife, Tracie, of Maumelle, Ark., and Jeffrey A. Claypool of Worthington; a daughter, Jennifer L. Porter and husband, Patrick, of Worthington; three granddaughters, Krkista F. Claypool of Maumelle, Ark., and Kelsi Lee Porter and Hailey N. Porter, both of Worthington; and a brother, Fred J. Claypool and wife, Ginny, of Kittanning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Joan C. Claypool.

<B>CLAYPOOL </B>—<B> </B>Friends of James R. Claypool Sr., who died Monday, June 21, 2010, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at <B>F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME,</B> 119 Bear St., Worthington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeremy Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.Memorial contributions may be made to Craigsville United Methodist Church.
