C. Wayne Fair, ex-police chief

C. Wayne Fair, 82, of Parker passed away Monday evening at Clarion Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in North Washington, Pa., on May 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank and Thelma Brown Fair.

He was a graduate of the former Concord High School.

Mr. Fair was affiliated with the Parker Presbyterian Church.

Wayne was a 50 year-plus member and past master of Parker City-Allegheny Valley Lodge F.& A.M. 521.

He served the City of Parker for nearly 20 years as the police chief.

Mr. Fair was employed for over 45 years by the Witco Chemical Co., formerly Daugherty Refinery, and also L. Sonneborne Refinery of Petrolia. Working in many capacities at the refinery, he worked his way to traffic manager, and retired from the Bradford operation as corporate traffic manager for the entire company operations worldwide.

He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from October 1952 to October 1954. He served with the military police, and discharged with the rank of corporal.

Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Sherre (Donald) McNany of Franklin; his two sons and their wives, Wayne and Lisa Fair and Eric and Deborah Fair, all of Parker; his grandchildren, Erika Dawn McNany, Shala Rene (Steven) Barnes, Brooke Switzer, Levi Fair, Eric (Jessica) Fair II, Brian (Cecile) Fair, Julie (Clayton) Woody, and Kelly Watts, and his three step- grandchildren and his two step great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his two sisters, Ruth Fair Lynn of Butler and Sally Fair (Don) Huffman of California; his three brothers, Dale (Janet) Fair of North Washington, the Rev. Earl (Glenda) Fair of Fairview (Petrolia), and Joe (Kay) Fair of Butler, and number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene F. Marnic Fair, who passed away on April 10, 2009.

FAIR — The friends of C. Wayne Fair, who passed away Monday Jan. 13, 2014, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Earl Fair, brother of Wayne, officiating. Burial in North Washington Union Cemetery, Butler County.Members of the F.& A.M.
