Students inducted into Spanish NHS
Numerous Mars Area High School students were recently inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society “Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica.”
Students are seniors Ian Buttermore, Lucas Elder, Madeleine Horvath, Megan Mann, Erin Rodgers and Grant Thompson.
Juniors include Kristin Bayuk, Zaccheri Campagna, Jacob Caringola, Leana Cuzzocrea, Jocelyn Esswein, Jordan Esswein, Julia Fletcher, John Fratto, Reagan Gales, Meredith Gaura, Kyleigh Gianfrancesco, Matthew Hannan, Sarah Hooper, Kelsey Hulbert, Cecelia Joliat, Anuj Kaul, Tyler Kearney, Addison Keys, Tucker Kush, Eliza Matusek, Ethan McMaster, Lauren Miko, Isabella Pellegrino, Karina Quinn, Allison Rice, Max Solich, Angelina Tsao, Emily Walsh and Jessica Winters.
Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who are enrolled in Spanish.
To be eligible for participation, students must have a minimum of 90% in each level of Spanish; an average GPA of 3.6; and must commit to complete all four years of the language.
The induction was originally scheduled for April 2020, but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. No formal induction ceremony was held.
