Miriam Gemperle
Miriam Gemperle, 93, of Gladstone, Mo., died Oct. 16, 2021.
Miriam was born on Sept. 10, 1928, in Butler, the daughter of the late Genevieve and Lawrence Gemperle.
She graduated from St. Peter's School, Butler High School and Mercyhurst College. There she earned a B.S. in Commercial Education, and was a member of Kappa Gamma Pi Honorary sorority.
Miriam was a legal secretary all of her life — first to Butler attorney Armand Cingolani from 1950 to 1969; then when she moved to Kansas City in 1969, she worked for MoDot until 1993; and then from 1995 to 2007 for the law firm of Schulz, Bender.
Miriam was a life member of Kansas City's Legal Secretary's Association, and was the 1978 KCLA Legal Secretary of the Year.
She is survived by her sister, Ellen Scherer of Butler; three nieces, Teresa Peters, Patricia Durand and Kathleen Lindsey; her nephew, Michael Scherer; seven grandnephews and nieces; and many longtime loyal friends.
She loved classical music, reading good books and spending time in the sun.
GEMPERLE — A funeral Mass for Miriam Gemperle, who died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 6415 N.E. Antioch Road, Gladstone, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of McGilley Antioch Chapel Funeral Home, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, Mo.
