Crops event slated for Feb. 26
The 2013 Western Pa. Crops Day event will be held Feb. 26 at the Atrium in Prospect. This event will feature Penn State University specialists William Curran, Greg Roth and John Tooker.
Topics to be covered include weed control strategies in forages, management tactics for improving soybean yields and corn trait selection to improve insect control.
An overview of the 2012 grain crops and insect pests will also be presented.
A total of two core and five category 01 credits will be offered for pesticide license recertification, and the meeting will also offer 2.0 Pest Management and 1.5 Crop Management Continuing Education Units for certified crop advisers.
The vendor show will begin at 9 a.m., and the program will conclude by 3:30 p.m.
Registration is requested and cost is $10 per person for registrations received by Feb. 19. Late registrations, after Feb. 19, will be accepted at a cost of $15 per person. Registration includes beverages, refreshments and lunch.
