County bridge crew getting new truck
Butler County is getting a new dump truck.
The county commissioners on Wednesday approved a $166,452 lease-purchase agreement with PNC Equipment Finance of Cleveland for a 2013 International dump truck.
The five-year lease is divided into equal payments of nearly $40,000 covering principal and interest.
The tandem vehicle will be used by the county bridge crew.
The truck, which replaces a smaller model that is more than 10 years old, will be able to haul up to 18 tons.
Pension fund
The commissioners approved a contract renewal with Raulin Inc. of Bridgeville to continue providing consulting and advisory services related to the county pension fund, which is mostly in the form of investments.
The county now will pay $40,000 annually, down from the $50,000 it paid Raulin previously.
Since the county switched to indexing as opposed to active management, the firm is expected to do less work.
The county retirement board recommended the renewal.
Parking
The commissioners approved a one-year lease with the Butler County Historical Society for 23 parking spaces in the Sen. Walter Lowrie House parking lot.
Under the new lease, which is not an increase from the current one, the fee is $40 a space each month.
The new lease runs from April 1 through March 31, 2015.
The spaces are reserved for county-owned vehicles used by workers throughout the day.
