Howard E. 'Butch' Miller
Howard E. “Butch” Miller, 70, of Lancaster Township passed away Saturday.
Born Nov. 15, 1941, in Lancaster Township, he was the son of the late Ernest A. and Catherine A. (Deemer) Miller.
Butch proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis as he was stationed in Guantanamo Bay.
He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lancaster Township, where he was the church cemetery treasurer and was heavily involved with the Southwestern Butler County Food Cupboard. Butch loved vegetable gardening and his apple orchard. After his apples were harvested, they were used to make apple butter and apple cider at Sally's Cider Press in Lancaster Township. Above all, Butch was a family man who cherished the time spent with his late wife, his children and his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two loving sons, Jeffrey H. Miller and his wife, Jodi, of Lancaster Township and Bradley W. Miller and his wife, Susan, of Madison, Va.; his dear sister, Mary Kaufman and her husband, Ronald, of Fombell; and seven adoring grandchildren, Mackensie and Gabriel Miller of Lancaster Township and Jonathan, Emma, Livia, Julia and Marissa Miller of Madison, Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Kathryn J. Miller, who passed away on April 25, 2002.
MILLER — Howard E. “Butch” Miller passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. The Miller family will welcome friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E.
