PITTSBURGH

PITTSBURGH — Hey, that trash man looks familiar!

A disguised Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto recently joined the city's government's rank-and-file for an upcoming episode of CBS's hit reality show “Undercover Boss.”

The episode airing Dec. 21 shows the 50-year-old mayor as a garbage collector, carpenter, and a forestry worker sawing down trees.

Peduto, a Democrat, donned a wig and fake beard to blend in with city workers. He says CBS approached him in June after seeing a clip of him on YouTube. He says he beat out several other mayors being considered for the show.

Peduto says going undercover was the only chance he'll ever have to hear what people say about him when he's not around.

He says the show provided a great opportunity to show off the Steel City.

PITTSBURGH — The former president of a Pittsburgh school Parent-Teacher Association has pleaded no contest to stealing more than $8,500 earmarked for anti-bullying programs.Lutual Love Sr., 65, didn't comment after Thursday's plea in Allegheny County court. He'll spend six months on probation. The district attorney contends Love commingled money from a Heinz Endowments grant with his own money, then accessed some at automatic teller machines at Rivers Casino, and used some for personal expenses at a pet store, funeral home and dry cleaners. When he was charged last year, Love said, “I'm not guilty of anything, and it'll come out in court.”Some had criticized the community activist's role in the PTA, because he has convictions for drug possession in 1997 and aggravated assault in 1988.
