Thomas M. Heim
Thomas M. Heim, 53, of Butler died unexpectedly Dec. 3 while in the woods doing what he enjoyed the most, hunting in Rural Valley.
Born on June 26, 1960, in Butler, he was a son of Joanne L. (Knauer) Heim and the late John M. Heim.
Tom was a graduate of Butler High School and Gannon University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He worked for the Armco Steel Plant in Butler until enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served for 11 years. Part of that time was during the Gulf War in which he flew F14 Fighter Planes.
He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, as he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his mother, Joanne Heim of Butler; his sister, Patti L. Amos and her husband, Dr. Brad Amos, of McCandless Township; his nephew, Austin Amos; his two nieces, Bailey Amos and Madison Amos; and his grandmother, Mrs. Helen Brookhart Knauer of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Heim.
HEIM — There will not be a visitation for Thomas M. Heim, 53, of Butler, who died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 3, 2013. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Kevin Fazio, will officiate.The arrangements are by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
