Vernon L. "Ben" Lassinger

Vernon L. "Ben" Lassinger, 86, of Saxonburg died Friday at Concordia Lutheran Home in Jefferson Township.

Born April 4, 1919, in Saxonburg, he was a son of Albert G. and Matilda C. Schroth Lassinger.

Mr. Lassinger served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel where he worked as an inspector.

Mr. Lassinger was president of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department in 1951, and he enjoyed camping and walking.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Maurhoff Lassinger, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

LASSINGER — Friends of Vernon L. "Ben" Lassinger, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Kausch Hall Chapel at the Concordia Lutheran Home. Burial will be in the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
