Anna B. Rhodes
Anna B. Rhodes, 90, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Lower Burrell, passed away Monday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. and Thomas Sowinski.
She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Merrittstown, Pa., the daughter of George Bulazo Sr. and Helen Kenyu Bulazo.
She was a homemaker. She was affiliated with SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum, where she was very active and a past president of the Ladies Altar Guild. She enjoyed gardening and baking, but she enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia A. (Thomas) Sowinski of Oklahoma City with whom she lived, and Eleanor (William) King of Mesa, Ariz.; two sons, Kenneth E. (Kathy) Rhodes Jr. of Butler and Edwin (Linda) Rhodes of Lower Burrell; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dr. George (Monna) Bulazo Jr. of Library, Pa., John Bulazo of San Francisco, Stephen (Giselda) Bulazo of New Kensington and Dr. Andrew Bulazo of Boardman, Ohio; and a sister, Roberta Tabacek of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth E. Rhodes Sr., who died Aug. 11, 2002; a son, Ronald Lee Rhodes; three sisters, Mary B. Kruth, Helen Alex and Elsie Daro; and two brothers, Michael and Robert Bulazo.
RHODES — Relatives and friends of Anna B. Rhodes, who died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, will be received at the
Duster Funeral Home, Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, Pa., from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6. A Panachida service will follow at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Divine Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 339 E. Tenth Ave., Tarentum, with her pastor, the Rev. Wesley M. Mash, officiating.
