Principal promoted at Seneca Valley

Cassandra Doggrell

JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley hired a new principal for Haine Middle School at its meeting Monday.

Cassandra Doggrell was promoted from assistant principal to principal at the middle school, where she has worked since 2014.

She replaces former principal Dan DiDesiderio, who took an administrative position in Fox Chapel Area School District last month. She’ll start at a salary of $90,000 in the new position.

“I want to make a difference in education,” Doggrell said. “I enjoy working with people, problem-solving and having a larger impact within the educational community. As a principal, I have the ability to improve the quality of instruction and the school experience through building relationships with students, teachers, families and community members.”

Doggrell of Tarentum began working at the school district in 2010 at Rowan Elementary School as an autism support teacher. Before that she worked at Highland School District in both elementary and secondary positions.

She earned a bachelor’s in elementary education and early childhood education from Grove City College. She also has her master’s in special education from Waynesburg University.
