Ronald Earnest

Ronald L. Earnest, 76, of Butler died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice following a brief illness.

Mr. Earnest was born in Butler on March 12, 1936. He was the son of Benjamin and Mary Stevenson Earnest.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling.

Mr. Earnest was employed at Pullman Standard in Butler and Air System Components in Tucson, Ariz.

Surviving are four children, Deborah Letke of Oil City, Rhonda Earnest of Butler, Margaret Menendez and her husband, Angel, of New Kensington and Ronald L. Earnest of Butler; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Alwine Earnest; two sons; and a granddaughter.

EARNEST — A memorial gathering for Ronald L. Earnest, who died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, will be at the Fishbone Ministries, 437 Shore St., Butler, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
