Evelyn Anthony, 89, of Chicora passed away peacefully Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

She was born on March 25, 1925, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria Winton.

Evelyn attended the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a retired private duty nurse, and she worked at several hospitals and homes for 20 years.

Surviving are her husband, Soldon W. Anthony, who she married on Jan. 11, 1943; her daughter, Linda F. Goode of California; and her two sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother.

Anthony — The friends of Evelyn Anthony, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at theYoung Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Floyd Palmer officiating. Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
