A tractor-trailer driver attempting a sharp turn from Kittanning Street’s westbound lane to East Jefferson Street’s eastbound lane inadvertently blocked traffic for about 30 minutes at about 4:15 p.m. Monday.
The truck, which bore the name Romkor LTD on its door, ended up broken down across the entirety of Kittanning Street and slightly into Jefferson Street.
A Butler Police Department officer responded and began directing Jefferson Street traffic around the truck.
John Malinski towing eventually arrived and moved the truck out of the way.
The driver said he was part-way through the turn when he heard a loud bursting sound. He said he thought he had blown his differential gear.
