Medical care in case of emergency mapped out

With the arrival of President Donald Trump this weekend, medical care in case of an emergency becomes a priority.

Butler Health System could not comment in depth on the visit, but according to BHS officials, the system would be ready for anything it would be called to do.

“President Trump's advance team did a review of Butler Memorial Hospital,” said BHS spokeswoman Jana Panther. “Appropriate measures are in place.”

If an emergency arises, other regional hospitals also are available. Sometimes in serious situations, such as vehicle accidents or traumatic injuries, patients can be taken directly or indirectly to UPMC or Allegheny Health Network hospitals in Pittsburgh.

Neither hospital responded immediately for comment Thursday.
