George Malcolm Campbell
George Malcolm Campbell, 85, of North Canton, Ohio, formerly of Hooker, died Wednesday at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
Mr. Campbell was born on Sept. 4, 1927, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of the late George and Sara Lepsch. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Carroll Campbell.
He graduated from Concord High School in Hooker. He was self-employed most of his life, at some time owning Campbell’s Market on Center Avenue in Butler, Campbell’s Superette in Hooker and the Gambrinus Inn and T-Bird Lounge in Canton. His hobbies were golfing and playing cards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his five children, Martha (Wayne) Bender of Massillon, Ohio, GeorgeAnn (Randy) Purnel and Thomas (Teresa) Campbell, all of Palm Springs, Calif., Sally (Mike) Bilbrey of Canton and Charlotte (Bill) Nee of Shorewood, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia “Ginny” (Rose) Campbell; his parents; and a sister, Dot Sherrick.
CAMPBELL — Funeral services for George Malcolm Campbell, who died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, will be at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Kevin Channell officiating.
