Elizabeth M. “Betty” McGaughey, 87, of Valencia, formerly of Glenshaw, passed away on Thursday evening, Dec. 26, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 12, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Stonewall and Marion Crummy Jackson.

Betty was a secretary for Mellon Bank, worked as a bridal consultant for Kaufman's and spent 18 years working with her husband at M. and M. Photos and Awards in Hampton.

She was a member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church and was a former member of Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Allison Park.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Mehalik (Matt) of Gibsonia and Tracy Watt (David) of Irwin; a son, Brian McGaughey (Amy) of Gibsonia; her grandchildren, Adam McGaughey (Francesca), Amanda Papp (Jeremy), Lauren Humbert (Stephen), Joshua and Jacob Watt and Julia Mehalik; great-grandchildren, Mila, Liam and Pierce; a brother, Gary Jackson (Ellen) of Ellwood City; a brother-in-law, Norman Gray of Sarver; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Bob” McGaughey, whom she married on June 15, 1957, and who died on Sept. 24, 2015; by a sister, Susan Gray; and a brother, Wayne H. Jackson.

MCGAUGHEY — Friends of Elizabeth M. “Betty” McGaughey, who died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, PA 16059. Tom McMeekin will officiate. Please meet at the church.

Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Allegheny County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valencia Presbyterian Church.
