Richard S. "Dick" Osche, 75, of Butler passed away Saturday in the Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Herman, a son of the late Clarence and Oliva Schnur Osche.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Mellish Osche. They were married July 30, 1960, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dick was a laborer for Local 323 for 28 years, working for Swidzinski Masonry and Etzel Masonry. He also worked for the VA Butler Healthcare in the housekeeping department.

He was a life member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, where he also served as an usher. He also was a life member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, the Summit Township Sportsman's Club and the Happy Hunters. He also volunteered at St Mary's School and the VA Medical Center.

He served with the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Rick Osche and his wife, Patti, of Slippery Rock and Jim Osche and his wife, Deanna, of Sarver; one brother, John Osche and his wife, Jean, of Sarver; three sisters, Patsy Osche of Butler, Cathy Stacy of Butler and Ada Rumburg, of Butler; eight grandchildren, Mindy, Oliva, Missy, Jimy, Breanna, Ricky, Chase and Patrick.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Osche and Evelyn Osche.

<B>OSCHE</B> — Friends of Richard S. "Dick" Osche, who died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
