Amelia McMichael continued her strong start to the season with 21 points, guiding Butler girls basketball to a 57-32 win over Erie McDowell on Saturday.

The Golden Tornado (4-2) ended non-section play by storming out to a 24-5 first-quarter lead. Maline McElroy chipped in 10 points to the cause.

Seneca Valley 49, Freedom (Va.) 33 — Natalie Hambly scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Raiders (3-3) to a win in the She Got Game Classic, in Washington, D.C. Gracie Cato scored 15.

Seneca Valley 49, Conwell-Egan 42 — The Raiders wrapped up the weekend Sunday with a second win at the showcase. Hambly scored another 16 points off four more treys, and Cato chipped in 12 points and Reece McFadden 10.

North Catholic 68, John Marshall 54 (Va.) — Sam Weird and Brady Wehner combined for seven triples to finish with 16 points each in the She Got Game Classic. Lauren Reitz added 12 in the victory.

North Catholic 54, Bishop O’Connell 52 (Va.) — Wehner closed the showcase with a game-high 26 points, nailing eight 3-pointers in the process. Sarah Loughry and Sam Weir finished with 10 and 11 points, respectively.

Jackson Bauman drained four 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 31 points, leading Knoch to an 81-61 rout of North Hills.

The Knights (5-1, 1-0 section) jumped out to a 23-13 first-quarter lead and pulled away from there. Teegan Finucan dropped 24 points, and Vinnie DeFelice scored 11 off the bench in the victory.

A-C Valley 41, Ridgway 18 — The Falcons had almost as many points by halftime (16) as Ridgway scored all game, with Joe Rapp leading the way with 18 points.

Mars 83, Blackhawk 53 — Drew Navetta drained eight treys and finished with 26 points in Friday’s win. Austen Wroblewski added 20 points, making four 3s.

Mars went 4-1 in the Hampton Dawg Duals on Saturday, losing to Hampton in the first match 42-27 before ripping off four straight wins against Indiana (34-33), Beaver (52-12), Central Catholic (30-29) and Mt. Pleasant (40-27).

Liam Hein went 5-0 for the Planets (5-2), mostly at 145 pounds, winning by fall against Beaver and by technical fall in a tight matchup with Central Catholic. Samuel Passarelli and Beckett Szczesniak also went 5-0 at 121 and 107, respectively. Passarelli earned two pins and Sczesniak three.

The match against Indiana was decided by criteria, with Mars earning the tiebreaker point for most forfeit victories with three. Match 4 also went to criteria, with Mars winning that on Criteria D, most wins (six).
