Richard Ford
Richard “Rich” Ford, 88, of Mars, passed away on Monday morning, Dec. 9, 2024, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 7, 1936, he was the son of the late John T. and Barbara Kroha Ford.
Rich was a truck driver for John T. Ford Trucking and then spent 14 years as a banker with Enterprise Bank in Allison Park.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his produce with his family and friends, but he most enjoyed the time spent with his family. You could always find him in the shelter house at his home, sharing food, beer and stories with anyone who came to visit.
He was the father of Richard Walter Ford (Cathy), Janice Marie Ford Abernethy (Samuel), the late Robert Richard Ford, Raymond Richard Ford (Maureen), Russell Richard Ford (Sharon) and Scott Richard Ford (Cori); father-in-law of Jennifer Ford; grandfather of Alexandra Ford Maseth (Adam), Andrew Ford, Brett Ford (McKayla), Sara Abernethy, Samantha Abernethy Flynn (Scott), Daniel Abernethy (Ashley), Robert Ford (Olivia), Jake Ford, Richard J. Ford (Abigail), Emily Ford, Nicole Ford (Anthony), Brandon Ford, Katelyn Ford, Jacqueline Ford, Sophia Ford, Carter Ford and Marli Ford; great-grandfather of Ryan Maseth, Casey Maseth, Ike Flynn, Penny Flynn, Duncan Ford, Landon Ford and Palmer Ford; and brother of Paul Ford (Mary Jane). He also is survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa M. “Terry” Iriti Ford, whom he married on Aug. 9, 1958, and who died on Oct. 10, 2021; by his son, Robert Richard Ford; and by his siblings, John T. Ford Jr., James Ford, Alice Ford Meinert and Kathryn Claus.
FORD — Friends of Richard “Rich” Ford, who died Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township., with Father Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.
